Aquaculture development information in the East African Community

The objective of the mission is to make a review on the aquaculture development status in the region and to look at areas of further support to the private sector. To this end, I would be interested to know about the existing and developing projects in the 5 countries and discuss the perspectives as well as the bottlenecks that they face. Based on this, recommendations will be formulated to the relevant authorities at countries and EAC level. I might be able to visit some of the projects within my tight schedule in the region starting 20/05 until end of June. L'objectif de la mission est de faire un état des lieux de l'aquaculture dans la région et de voir quels supports apporter au secteur privé pour favoriser le développement de l'aquaculture dans la région. Dans ce contexte, je serais intéressé par le témoignage des opérateurs actuels et en cours de développement dans les 5 pays afin de voir les perspectives mais aussi les obstacles rencontrés. Sur cette base, des recommandations seront faites auprès des pouvoirs publics des pays concerné et au niveau régional. Je pourrai sans doute visiter l'un ou l'autre opérateur durant cette mission assez serrée d'un point de vue du temps.
