Bonjour, Dans la vidéo de cette semaine, je vous présente une technique utilisée pour conditionner les poissons à mieux consommer les aliments. Cette technique est basée sur le concept de réflexe conditionné d’Ivan Pavlov, qui consiste à répéter une action pour entrainer à chaque fois un comportement (reflexe) chez un animal. Managing the hidden poison To: Platform for African – European Partnership in Agricultural Research for Development Phase II (PAEPARD II) <PAEPARD(a)faraafrica.community> Aflatoxins are highly toxic metabolites of several *Aspergillus* species widely distributed throughout the environment. These toxins have adverse effects on humans and livestock at a few micrograms per kilogram (μg/kg) concentrations. Kenya has the most recorded outbreaks of aflatoxicosis, that has resulted into death, in Africa. Aflatoxins affect not only human and animal health, but also food security and trade. Though produced in small quantities, the ease with which these highly potent, carcinogenic metabolites permeate farmers’ fields, and crop value chain, is of grave concern. Most aflatoxin-susceptible commodities are also staple foods in Africa. This webinar brings together guests speakers form Government agencies on food safety and regulation, the World Food Programme, Cereal Millers Association, and researchers, who are working tirelessly to manage aflatoxin exposure in Kenya. In this first dialogue, experts and high-level representatives from research, policy and development will showcase possible solutions and discuss ways to scale good ideas as part of the summit’s Action Track 1, which aims to ensure access to safe and nutritious food for all. The panelists will take a holistic approach combining knowledge on different aspects of food systems and consider key actions needed for aquatic foods to be a central part of a sustainable food systems transformation. *Opening remarks* *Sir Odd Emil Ingebrigtsen*, Minister of Fisheries and Seafood, Norway Sir Ingebrigtsen was appointed Minister of Fisheries and Seafood in the Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries in 2020. He has a degree in fishery economics from Bodø University College and a career in the private sector spanning decades. *Invited speakers* *Walking the talk: Showcasing possible solutions* *Prof Hettie Schönfeldt*, Director, Centre of Excellence for Food Security, University of Pretoria Prof Schönfeldt is a university professor and advocate of nutrition research. Her research focuses on linking nutrient quantity and quality of foods to sustainable food systems for attaining food and nutrition security for all. *Merete Tandstad*, Senior Program Coordinator of the EAF-Nansen Programme, FAO Tandstad works on the assessment and management of marine fishery resources in developing countries at the EAF-Nansen Programme in partnership with organizations such as Norad and the Institute of Marine Research. *Dr. Arun Padiyar*, Project Manager, Sustainable Aquaculture, WorldFish, India Dr. Padiyar has over 20 years of experience in fisheries and aquaculture and leads the WorldFish program in Odisha, India. Prior to his tenure at WorldFish, he served as an aquaculture consultant for FAO and the World Bank. *Dr. António Marques*, Project Coordinator, Portuguese Institute for the Sea and Atmosphere Dr. Marques is a senior researcher and biologist by profession. He coordinates the SEAFOODTOMORROW project, which aims to develop eco-innovative solutions for improving the safety and dietary value of seafood in Europe. *Connecting research and policy: How do we scale up good solutions* *Prof Sissel Rogne*, Managing Director (CEO), The Institute of Marine Research (IMR) Prof Rogne has a long career working in marine research. Before joining IMR, she was the CEO of the Norwegian Biotechnology Advisory Board and part-time professor at the University of Bergen and Norwegian University of Life Sciences. *Dr. Gunhild Stordalen*, Chair, Action Track 2: Shift to sustainable consumption patterns Dr. Stordalen is the CEO and founder of the EAT Foundation, a global multi-stakeholder platform for transforming the world’s food system. Her work links climate, health and sustainability issues across food systems. *Dr. Naoko Yamamoto*, Assistant Director General for Universal Health Coverage; Chair, UN Nutrition Dr. Yamamoto has years of experience working in global health systems in Japan. She was recently appointed Chair of the UN Nutrition, a UN inter-agency coordination and collaboration mechanism for nutrition at the global and country levels. *Dr. Manuel Barange*, Director, Fisheries and Aquaculture Policy and Resources Division, FAO Dr. Barange has a background in fisheries science. His research focuses on the link between climate change impacts and marine ecosystems.
