Hello to all, my name is Alexis HOUNDJI, and I am a student at the University of Abomey-Calavi at the Ecole Polytechnique d'Abomey-Calavi (EPAC) in Benin. More specifically the Department of Animal Production and Health (PSA) now in my 3rd year of study. My final exams and qualifications will be coming soon. I have a strong interest/ passion for the development of Aquaculture in Africa and wish to go as far as possible in research and studies in the field. My goal is to have fish production centers which can: allow or induce Food self-sufficiency in fishery products; conservation of endangered aquatic animals to reduce overuse of our water bodies. Also I would especially like to spend my time in developing the areas of fish feed using local products because I think that it is a major constraint to development in the sector. J'ai un penchant fort pour le développement de l'Aquaculture en Afrique et voudrais aller le plus loin possible dans les recherches et études dans le domaine. Mon objectif est d'avoir des centres de production halieutiques capable de: permettre ou d'induire une Autosuffisance alimentaire en produits halieutiques;une concervation des animaux aquatiques en voie de disparition afin de réduire la surexploitation de nos plans d'eaux. De plus je voudrais spécialement beaucoup m'investire dans le domaine de l'alimentation des poissons à l'aide des produits locaux car je crois que cela constitue un grand frein au dévelopement de la filière.
