This parasite is Macrogyrodactylus sp. a common gill monogenean of African catfishes. If
you can send a higher resolution photomicrograph, and its size, it will be easier to
visualize the shape of the ventral bar and marginal hooks and be able to tell the actual
species. From my knowledge of its zoogeography, I would predict its either M. congolensis
or M. clarii (see attached publications). I am quite interested in this parasite` and I
would appreciate if you could send me some specimens.
