Mr Peter, Cela me fait plaisir de découvrir l'intérêt que vous portez à l'aquaculture de mon pays. Au fait, beaucoup de régions de la RDC présentent un potentiel aquacole important. Moi, j'évolue à l'Est du pays où j'opère dans le secteur particulièrement avec les pisciculteurs en milieu rural. Je peux te dire que des régions comme Shabunda, Mwenga et Bunyakiri au Sud-Kivu; et Walikale au Nord-Kivu regorge d'énormes potentialités piscicoles sous-exploitées suite à l'ignorance des techniques plus rentables et à un manque d'intrants appropriés par les exploitants. Cela signifie que nos discussions, d'échanges et réflexions ne pèsent pas même un fingerling (petite)! J'ai été activement impliqué dans des espèces de pangasius la recherche en aquaculture (reproduction artificielle, l'élevage des larves ...) avec de nombreux Vietnamiens et des scientifiques français de l'équipe que je dirigeais. L'histoire du succès de l'aquaculture de ce poisson au Vietnam est principalement due à l'environnement vietnamien dans le sens le plus large du terme sans doute beaucoup plus que la technologie de l'aquaculture du poisson lui-même. Par exemple pourquoi est-Thaïlande, qui a le même accès aux ressources génétiques de pangasius au Vietnam et en très avancée de l'aquaculture savoir-faire, produisant principalement Clarias spp silure (hybrides avec le poisson-chat africain ...!) Et presque pas de pangasius (à comparer avec Vietnam)? Présentation de poissons exotiques comme le Nigeria semble avoir été fait avec Pangasius est vraiment désespérant. That means that our discussions/exchanges/thoughts do not weigh even a (small) fingerling!!! I have been actively involved in Pangasius species aquaculture research (artificial reproduction, larval rearing ...) with many Vietnamese and French scientists from the team I was heading. The success story of the aquaculture of this fish in Vietnam is mainly due to the Vietnamese environment in the broadest sense of the term probably much more than the aquaculture technology of the fish itself. For example why is Thailand, which has the same access to Pangasius genetic resources as Vietnam and a very advanced aquaculture know how, producing mainly Clarias spp catfish (hybrids with the African catfish ...!!!)and almost no Pangasius (compare with Vietnam)? Introducing exotic fish the way Nigeria seems to have been doing with Pangasius is really despairing. Nous utilisons celle faite par Resun, qui a coûté environ US $ 75.00. L'unité est d'environ tour 17cm de long et environ 6cm rounde, fait de métal, pas en plastique et très robuste. Il fonctionne via un diagraghm remplaçable et vibrateur. Il fournit de grandes quantités d'air, et nous pouvons voyager avec 6 à 8 x 100l fûts en plastique (avec couvercles serrés) de 1000-1500 alevins chacun. Le ventilateur met un flux très forte de bulles d'air dans chacune des six fûts, à l'aide de grandes bulleurs ou de diffuseurs. L'utilisation de ce système, il est possible de livrer 8-10 000 petits poissons dans un véhicule de 1 tonne de type pick-up sur une distance de 1500 kilomètres et le temps de déplacement de 15 heures, avec presque pas de pertes. Il est essentiel bien sûr que les poissons sont affamés pendant au moins 48 heures avant le transport, et sont sous sédation ainsi. It supplies large volumes of air, and we can travel with 6 to 8 x 100l plastic drums (with clamped lids) of 1000-1500 fingerlings each. The blower puts a very strong stream of air-bubbles into each of the six drums, using large airstones or diffusers. Using this system it is possible to deliver 8-10 000 small fish in a 1-tonne pick-up type vehicle over a distance of 1500km and travel time 15 hours, with almost no losses. It is essential of course that the fish are starved for at least 48 hours before transport, and are sedated as well. Several smaller drums seem to be easier to handle than one large container, when it comes to unpacking the fish at the destination, as they can be half-emptied and then carried to the water. Plastic drums are widely available throughout Africa as they are used to import Neviropine (sp?), the AIDS drug, and once cleaned, are cheap and ideal for re-use. Use the type with a clamp-down lid. A small hole is drilled through the centre of the lid, and the air-line passes through this. Atelier d'organisation et de renforcement des capacités des acteurs de la filière aquacole au Togo

Bonjour à tous, Il se tient en ce moment à Lomé un important atelier sur l'organisation des aquaculteurs en Association Nationale des Aquaculteurs du Togo et sur le renforcement des capacités des acteurs de la filière aquacole. Cet atelier est entrain de former 100 pisciculteurs. L'atelier se tient du 05 au 09 Mars 2012 au Centre Communautaire de BE à Lomé, dans le cadre du lancement officiel du Projet PPAT/TOGO/MAEP/ACET-CI/2009. Plusieurs activités sont prévues au programme dont la visite des fermes. L'ateleir regroupe en ce moment plus de 120 personnes du monde de l'aquaculture au Togo.
