Bonjour,

Dear all,
Please find below a link about the African Ocean 2021 Conference that will be held in Egypt December 2021 if you are interested to join:
-
The “African kick-off Conference for the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development, organized by the Government of Egypt (through the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the National Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries) and UNESCO (through the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission and the UNESCO Regional Bureau for Sciences in the Arab States), will serve as a platform for the launch of the UN Decade (2021-2030) in Africa. Over 1000 practitioners, academics, researchers, students and stakeholders are expected to attend the three-day (on line) event which be held from 7-9 December 2021
-
It will also bring energy to the Decade of African Seas and Oceans (2015-2025) by providing impetus for development of ocean sciences, technology and innovation necessary for the harnessing the Sustainable Blue Economy in Africa as outlined in the African Union’s Agenda 2063 (“The Africa We want”) and the 2050 African Integrated Maritime Strategy (2050 AIM Strategy).
-
The conference will provide a forum to take stock of status of ocean science and technology in the region, deliberate on how ocean sciences in Africa should be supported or reorganized to deliver the required societal outcomes, and seek interest and commitment of the oceanographic community to deliver on a number of directions of research which are critical for ocean sustainable management.

Bonjour,

Deadline September 30, 2021
To: Platform for African – European Partnership in Agricultural Research
for Development Phase II (PAEPARD II) <PAEPARD(a)faraafrica.community>
Subject: 7TH CALL FOR POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS SCIENCE BY WOMEN
Deadline September 30, 2021
Women for Africa Foundation is launching the 7th call for fellowships of
the program Science by Women, aimed at selecting 22 senior African women
scientists to be integrated in 22 top research Spanish centers in the
following areas: health and biomedicine, agriculture and food security,
water, energy and climatic change.
Considering the exceptional challenge of the Covid-19 pandemic, some of the
fellowships are focused on the research and innovation carried out by
African women scientists from the diverse and interdisciplinary approaches.
So far more than 80 fellows have enjoyed six-month research stays which
have contributed to enhance their leadership in scientific research and
technology transfer.
You can find the presentation as well as the rules and guidelines in the
link https://mujeresporafrica.es/7th-edition-science-by-woman/
I encourage you to give to this call the widest dissemination among senior
women researchers.
The program’s ultimate goal is to enable African women researchers to play
a leading role in the transition of Africa to a knowledge-based and
innovation-led economy.
The Women for Africa Foundation is a private entity aimed at contributing
to the sustainable development of Africa through the drive of its women.
