In its 4th year, ES4 will take place at the Department of Meteorology,

This "Summer" School is aimed at a broad range of environmental
researchers at the start of their careers, including first and second

stimulate the students' research by showing the broader context in
which it takes place and to introduce opportunities for later
inter-disciplinary research.

SAAP Invigilators
The University is looking to recruit PhD students (1st year
preferred) to oversee examinations for students receiving additional
examination arrangements from the Special Academic Arrangements Panel
(SAAP). Applicants should have a high proficiency in English, good
communication skills, a high level of organisation and an ability to
keep calm in pressurised situations. The examination period is 10th
-28th of May and it is essential that you are able to fully commit to
work during this time. An induction/ training day will take place on
7th of May for which attendance is also compulsory.
If you feel that you are a suitable candidate and would like to
join the team of SAAP invigilators you can contact me by e:mail to arrange
an interview, no later than wednesday 24th March please. Interviews will be
held late March/ early April.
Please note that it is also essential that candidates provide
two satisfactory references in order to be appointed, one of which must
be an academic reference from the University of Stirling.

Hello everyone,
As part of the English Department's Postgraduate Conference arrangements, we
will be holding a ceilidh on Saturday 27th March from 8pm -1am at the Uni
Management Centre.
The ceilidh is open to everyone - postgrad, undergrad and staff - and is a
great chance for all PhD students to socialise, not only with Stirling
postgrads, but with research students from all over the UK and beyond! Not
all of our delegates are researchers in English studies, so you never know
who you might meet!
Our Ceilidh band is Skelpit-Lug, who have an excellent reputation, so it
promises to be a really good night.
Admission is £5, and tickets are available from Jessica Dyson or Jennifer
Walters in Pathfoot Room B22, or you can pay at the door.

The next round of RSE/SE Enterprise Fellowships will be launched at an event
at SE, Atlantic Quay, Glasgow, at 5.30pm on 18th March. The closing date
