If you would like to register, please email me or the Graduate Research list Thanks Sylvia Barnes Secretary, Planning & Research Office Room 3B1 x 7041 STIRLING GRADUATE RESEARCH SCHOOL An Introduction to QSR NUD*IST for Analysing Qualitative Data Dr Sam Punch Applied Social Science 5th May 2004 B3, Cottrell - 3:00pm - 4:00pm 2A19, Cottrell - 4:00pm - 5:00pm* The aim of this introductory session is to highlight some of the benefits and limits of using NUD*IST as a tool to facilitate qualitative data analysis. The first half of the session (3-4pm) will illustrate how NUD*IST can be used drawing on examples from a recent qualitative study. It will indicate how documents should be prepared for NUD*IST and how to begin devising a coding system. Sylvia Barnes Secretary, Planning & Research Office Room 3B1 x 7041 STIRLING GRADUATE RESEARCH SCHOOL Publishing your Research Professor John Field, DAICE and Director of SGRS 21st April 2004 at 2pm - 4pm 2A17, Cottrell Building This session examines the techniques and pathways by which graduate students may achieve publication of their research output. The session will cover each stage of the process, including the identification and targeting of potential publishers, the writing and presentation of proposals in an increasingly competitive academic marketplace, and the conversion of thesis materials into publishable texts. Three categories of academic publishing will be considered: books, journal articles, and essays for edited volumes. John Field has published many examples of each, and regularly reviews book and article proposals for major academic publishers in the UK. Subject: Participants needed - Paid Experiment

Hello fellow graduates, I am a Psychology student in the final year of my PhD and am urgently looking for participants to help me finish off my last experiment. Your task involves making ratings of personality and attractiveness of male and female faces. The experiment takes between 30-40 minutes, pays between £3-4 and will be run in Cottrell 3B114 (Faces lab). To take part, you must be between 18-35 years old and have English as your dominant language.
