Dear All,
I'm sorry that the seminar programme for the Centre of Commonwealth
Studies is late this semester - we had another possible speaker whose
visit depended on funding which, after prolonged negotiations, did not
materialise.
The programme as it stands is short but inviting, beginning with a paper
by Dr Phia Steyn in the History Department, which combines African and
environmental history. The current Charles Wallace India Trust fellow,
Indrajit Hazra, will speak on an issue that is increasingly interesting
scholars and readers of postcolonial writing, and Professor Huggan from
Leeds, a well-known postcolonial theorist, will visit us in May to give
a paper. There are two other papers/readings in the offing which we hope
will happen.
I attach the programme and hope to see you at the meetings.
<<Programme Spring 2005>>
Best wishes,
Angela
