Subject: Survey Circulation Request: Detecting Chimpanzee Emotion
Good Afternoon Sarah and Pawel,
I’m hoping you can help me circulate my questionnaire through BERG for data collection for
my MSc dissertation project. Please could you forward this to the group? In the study, I’m
aiming to find out whether humans can detect the emotional content of chimpanzee emotional
displays.
I would like to invite anyone over the age of 18 who is interested to take part in an
online survey that should take approximately 15 – 20 minutes to complete. I’m looking for
both participants that have experience working with non-human primates (for example, in a
caretaking or research capacity) and participants without experience working with
primates. I hope you can spare the time to help. I’d also really appreciate it if anyone
could send this questionnaire on to anyone else outside of BERG who has experience working
with primates and might be interested in taking part.
The ethical approaches of this project have been approved through the University of
Stirling General University Ethics Panel.
