Dear all,
Just a reminder about tomorrow's BERG meeting. Blake Morton will be giving a presentation entitled, "Pilot Analysis: Cognition, Personality, and Social Flexibility in Primates". Although Blake presented on a related topic recently I am reliably informed that he has some new data and analyses!
We start at 5.30pm as per usual in the Psychology common room (3A94 Cottrell). Drinks and snacks will be provided.
Christine.

See ne-mail below from Sean about the PSGB meeting. Do try to go (best to register!).
Dear friends/colleagues
Evolution of the Modern Primatologist (PSGB spring conference, Liverpool) is shortly upon us. I hope you can make it. Please encourage your colleagues and your students to attend. It will be great if we can get a really good turn-out representing Stirling at the meeting.
We think it's going to be unlike any other psgb spring conference that you might have attended before. We've taken the best elements from previous meetings, put them into ours, and sprinkled on some more good bits. We have world class invited speakers, a great mix of experienced researcher and student talks and a fine (and numerous) complement of poster presentations. For the first time there's a dedicated poster session scheduled. Another first is for poster presenters to have a session of their own at the podium; each presenter will have a turn to briefly address the delegates to highlight their research. See the schedule on the website; there's something for everyone!
And if that isn't enough lunch is complimentary on both days of the meeting; and our ice cream sponsor is providing free ice cream at the evening social event to go with the complimentary glass of wine from the evening venue hosts. How well will your monkey team do in the quiz? Oh, and all that comes after the wine reception in the splendour of the VGM. If you come a day before or stay the day after, you can go to Chester Zoo for free (must register for conference and with zoo in advance, see website for details).
I hope you'll now agree that we're lining up a special meeting in Liverpool, both scientifically and socially. Please register in advance, if possible.
See the conference website for further details https://sites.google.com/site/psgbliverpool2011/home <https://sites.google.com/site/psgbliverpool2011/home> and follow the conference on twitter (#livpsgb).
Looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible in Liverpool.
Best wishes
Sean

Dear all,
Just a reminder about tomorrow's BERG meeting. Chris Lucas from Blair Drummond Safari Park will be giving us a presentation about elephant management at the Park, including future plans. We start at 5.30pm as per usual, in the Psychology Common Room (3A94 Cottrell). Drinks and snacks will be provided.
Unfortunately our presenter for NEXT week, Lou Tasker, has had to cancel her talk. If anyone wishes to volunteer to take next week's slot (Wed 20th April) just let me know. Otherwise it will be drinks and snacks as usual, but just some general chit-chat instead of a formal presentation.

Dear all,
Just a reminder about tomorrow's BERG meeting. Claire Watson will be presenting her PhD work on, "Social contagion in common marmosets: implications for culture, cognition and welfare". Claire recently submitted her PhD and will be examined in a couple of month's time, so I'm sure she will appreciate plenty of feedback (and she will probably kill me for saying that...!).
We start at 5.30pm as usual in the Psychology common room (3A94 Cottrell). Drinks and nibbles will be provided.
Hope to see you there.

Dear all
I have had a good response to SCAB.
I am driving over and have in my car: Hannah T, Annie Jacobs, Lauren Reid and Sarah Vogel.
Kerstin Wolf is also hoping to go....anyone else planning to drive? Andre - do you have transport/space?
I am also including Susan Richmond, Andrew Bagnall and Kimberly Hahn on the registration list I will send in on Friday. If any of you named decide NOT to come, please let me know asap.
Sue Healy, the organiser , is currently in Melbourne! She says the meeting will start around 10am (so we'd leave Stirling campus at 8.30am) and we'd be back by 7pm. The registration fee of £8/student and £13/staff covers a sandwich lunch and tea/coffee.
The programme will not be available until next week but I will circulate to those who registered.
Best, Hannah
