This situation affects Congo River tributaries and some local lakes and rivers on the axis Bukama- Manono- Akoro; It dates from the months of March, April and May 2014 in the territory of Manono Tanganyika District and Territory Malemba Nkuku in the District of Upper Lomani in Katanga Province; 4 sites affected in the territory of Manono are: (i) Kankonde, Mpanda Lanzi; (ii) Kioni, Kasumba, Lukoje; (iii) Masania, Kashimwa; (iv) Kisesa, Kakamba, Sangwa. 4 sites affected in Malemba Nkulu are: (i) Muyumba, Kalenga, Bulongo, Kasumbu; (ii) Kakinga, Tohwe; (iii) Mubanga, Mwabanga, Kamukonda; (iv) Kibao, Ntemba, Kijiji, Kitongola, Mutombo and Lengalengwa all along the Congo River. Reports mention the presence of wounds on certain scaled finfish, manifested as ulcers and rendering the flesh « bitter ». The events took place on tributaries of the Congo river and certain adjoining lakes and streams along the transect Bukama- Manono- Akoro.
