CYANOBACTERIAL RESEARCHERS SOUGHT FROM COUNTRIES IN AFRICA
South Africa recently participated in the development of CYANONET, a UNESCO-funded pilot project aimed at creating an internet-based forum for cyanobacterial issues and cyanobacterial toxins. At that time I was able to identify and link with researchers in only 7 African countries.
While CYANONET was not fortunate to secure a second round of funding, a component of strategic research and management planning for toxic algae in South Africa, managed by the South African Water Research Commission, has included an attempt to continue to try and develop an African information network. The purpose of this network will be to enable rapid sharing of information and resources related to cyanobacterial problems, as well as the compilation of a geographic database of problems, interventions and solutions.
In this regard I am seeking responses from anyone in Africa involved with research, or the management of surface waters or fisheries with cyanobacterial problems. Respondents should be contactable by email.

Recherche de chercheurs africains ayant travaillé sur les cyanobactéries
Afrique du Sud a récemment participé à l'élaboration de CYANONET, un financée par l'UNESCO projet pilote visant à créer un Internet-forum pour les questions de cyanobactéries et les toxines de cyanobactéries. À ce moment-là je n'ai été en mesure d'identifier et de me mettre en contact avec des chercheurs que dans 7 pays africains.
Bien que CYANONET n'ait pas pu obtenir un deuxième tour de financement, une composante de la recherche stratégique et la planification de la gestion des algues toxiques en Afrique du Sud, géré par la Commission sud-africaine de recherche sur les eaux Commission, a inclu une tentative de continuer à essayer de développer un réseau africain d'information . Le but de ce réseau sera de partager rapidement des informations et des ressources liées aux problèmes des cyanobactéries, ainsi que la compilation d'une base de données géographiques, des problèmes, des interventions et des solutions.
À cet égard, je suis la recherche de réponses de qui que ce soit en Afrique ayant contribué à la recherche, ou la gestion des eaux de surface ou de la pêche où se posent des problèmes de cyanobactéries. Les répondants doivent pouvoir être contactés par e-mail.
