Dear Econ PhD students,
We are back organising research seminars after a long paused due to Covid disruptions.
As I see it, this should be part of your economics training.
Among many things, seminars teach you how researchers go about structuring and
communicating their papers and academic research.
Can I please ask you to join us on Friday at 2 pm in C3Y2 for Dr Bouwe Dijkstra's talk
on Biodiversity Credits?
On top of this, do not fee shy about meeting our speakers and talk about your research.
They are always eager to learn and listen to young PhD students and their ideas. Maybe a
couple of you can meet Bouwe for a coffee?
Many thanks,
Mirko

Subject: [Econ] Reminder: Bouwe Dijkstra's Visit This Friday
Dear All,
This is a polite reminder we have a research seminar on Environmental Economics this
Friday at 2PM in C3Y2. We will be welcoming Bouwe Dijkstra from Nottingham. Bouwe is
Associate Professor whose research is in the areas of political economy and environmental
economics, which has led to publications in the European Economic Review, European Journal
of Political Economy, Public Choice and the Journal of Environmental Economics and
Management, among others. He is interested in the theory and application of emissions
trading and the links between international trade and the environment. He has recently
taken an interest in the economics of the informal sector.
His talk will be on Biodiversity Credits.
I urge you to fill out the visit schedule. At present only two members of staff have put
down themselves for meetings. I would encourage all staff and PhD students to grab a
chance to talk to Bouwe. You can book your slot here:
