Dear all,
CSSAW Alumna Dr. Rebecca Meagher will be kicking off the CCSAW Research Seminar series
this semester in a couple of weeks time (Wed Jan. 26that 1230):
Zoom -- MailScanner has detected a possible fraud attempt from
"ryyzw.smtpurl.com" claiming to be

Dr. Meagher will present on links between cognition and welfare in farmed animals,
especially dairy cattle. Amongst other topics, she will review how calf housing affects
their abilities to learn, and how motivated adult cows are to learn.
Dr. Meagher is currently an Assistant Professor of Animal Welfare at Dalhousie University,
focusing mainly on mink and dairy cattle. Her research interests include welfare
assessment methods, effects of the early environment, and understanding and managing
individual differences. Her work on the environments of calves and heifers examines how
these factors affect both cognition and emotional states such as boredom.
Sadly she won't be here in person - her "visit" will be 100% online. But the
poster is attached - please spread the word so we get a great turnout!
I’ve also attached a poster with all this semester’s seminars, February's and
March's too.
Look forward to “seeing” you there!
Best wishes,
Georgia Mason
