Dear everyone,
Apologies for the late reminder this week. In the next BERG/SHAIR meeting (tomorrow 4pm).
Dr. Sandro Sehner will present "Getting Along to get Ahead. Social tolerance and
Problem-Solving in Primate Groups"
Dr. Sandro Sehner is a postdoctoral researcher at the German Primate Center in Göttingen
and the Centre de Primatologie in Strasbourg.
Abstract:
In my talk, I will explore how social tolerance shapes both social learning and
innovation—two key building blocks of cultural evolution.
Drawing on research with lemurs, capuchin monkeys, and common marmosets, I examine how
variation in group-level tolerance affects primates’ ability to acquire and solve novel
tasks together.
Sandro will join us online at 4pm. We will gather in the Psychology Common Room as usual.
