[Media-watch] Auschwitz and the media

AUSCHWITZ, WAR, MASS MORTALITY & MEDIA LYING

On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz by
Soviet Forces (27 January 1945) the world remembers the over 1 million
Jewish, Roma, Polish, Soviet and other victims of this industrialized mass
murder at Auschwitz-Birkenau.

However on this occasion we should also remember the following.

1. How Bush's grandfather helped Hitler's rise to power (UK Guardian article
by Ben Aris & Duncan Campbell:

2. How modern, US industrialized war targets Third World civilians to
minimize politically-adverse "own-side" combat deaths.
Thus the post-invasion under-5 infant mortality in Iraq (after 1991) has
been about 1.3 million and that in Afghanistan (after 2001) totals about 1.2
million (UN & UNICEF data). US combat deaths total about 1000.

The ratio of post-invasion under-5 infant deaths in Iraq and Afghanistan to
US combat deaths is about 2500 to 1.

The post-1950 under-5 infant mortality in Indo-China has totalled 13
million; the US combat deaths in the Indo-China War totalled about 50,000;
and thus the ratio of total Indo-China post-1950 under-5 infant deaths to US
combat deaths has been about 260 to 1.

To show how far we have advanced technically in the art of war i.e. the art
of killing children, we can calculate the ratio of children murdered by the
Nazis (1.5 million) to the total number of European Axis military casualties
(4.7 million) i.e. 0.3.

3. How non-reportage contributed to the magnitude of the Jewish Holocaust.

On the 60th Anniversary of the Liberation of Auschwitz by Soviet Forces (27
January 1945), let us remember that Silence Kills - it was not until 17
December 1942, 30 months before the end of the Second World War in Europe,
that Anthony Eden, Foreign Minister of the British Government, on behalf of
11 Allied Nations, officially admitted the actuality of the Jewish Holocaust
in the House of Commons in reply to a question put by Sidney Silverman MP
(see W. Laqueur, The Terrible Secret. Suppression of the Truth about Hitler'
s "Final Solution", Penguin. London, 1982 & B. Wasserstein, Britain and the
Jews of Europe 1939-1945, Oxford University Press, Oxford, 1988):

[attention of these governments had been drawn to] "numerous reports from
Europe that the German authorities, not content with denying to persons of
Jewish race in all the territories over which their barbarous rule has been
extended the most elementary rights, are now carrying into effect Hitler's
oft-repeated intention to exterminate the Jewish people in Europe."

4. How media non-reportage contributes to horrendous, avoidable global mass
mortality.

The following analysis, "PROOF", has been sent (with some variations) to
mainstream media throughout the world, including major Anglo-American media,
in the interests of humanity.

In short, massive Lying by Commission by Anglo-American mainstream mass
media over Weapons of Mass Destruction (arguably the Biggest Lie in History)
allowed the Iraq Invasion and horrendous subsequent mortality totalling (so
far) 0.4 million (data from the UN & The Lancet); however the same
mainstream media are committed to Lying by Omission over the largely
avoidable, largely First World-imposed, global post-1950 under-5 infant
mortality of 0.9 billion (the Greatest Crime in History). Read on and
remember - silence kills and silence is complicity.

PROOF - Massive Lying by Omission & Commission by Anglo-American Media

The Web-accessible Searchable Archives of the mainstream Anglo-American
media have provided devastating evidence of massive media Lying by
Commission and Omission.

Arguably the biggest lie of history is surely that about the Iraqi Weapons
of Mass Destruction (WMDs) - this lie enabled the illegal 2003 US-UK
invasion of Iraq that has so far been associated with about 0.4 million
avoidable Iraqi deaths. UN and UNICEF data show that the under-5 infant
mortality in Iraq has been 1.2 million since 1991 and 0.2 million since the
US invasion.

However the total post-1950 under-5 infant mortality has been 870 million
for the World, 840 million for the First World-devastated Third World and
about 400 million for the Muslim World - surely the greatest crime in
history.

The pre-war Bush-Blair claim of Iraqi WMDs was rejected by experts and
millions of sensible people world-wide in the absence of any concrete
evidence.

The US investigation team recently reported its failure to find Iraqi WMDs
after 2 years of minute examination. In response to Senate Committee
questioning about WMDs, Condoleezza Rice recently confessed: "And, yes, we
thought he had stockpiles, which he did not have. We had a problem with the
intelligence" (The Age, Melbourne, 20 January, 2005).

Nevertheless, an English-language Advanced Google Search for "WMD", "weapons
of mass destruction" and Iraq plus "weapons of mass destruction" has yielded
3.1, 4.1 and 3.5 million results, respectively - indicative of massive media
coverage of the Big Lie.

In contrast, Advanced Google Searching for the phrases "under-5 infant
mortality" and "under-five infant mortality" has yielded meagre results of
394 and 125, respectively (and 284 and 11, respectively, if Polya is
included in the Search, reflecting my success with Alternative Media in
humane attempts to inform the World - see

Similar but more specific results are obtained by directly addressing the
Searchable Archives of major newspapers and media groups. The Anglo-American
mainstream media are overwhelmingly guilty of simultaneous Lying by
Commission about the biggest lie of history and Lying by Omission about the
biggest crime in human history.

Exposure of this mendacious mainstream media complicity in Anglo-American
"democratic imperialism" applied to Afghanistan and Iraq may help constrain
further illegal Anglo-American violence throughout the World that has been
foreshadowed in the 2005 Presidential Inauguration.

During her recent Confirmation Hearings, Condoleezza Rice put Cuba, Belarus,
Burma, Iran, North Korea and Zimbabwe on a US target list of countries noted
as "outposts of tyranny"; she also made special note about Venezuela. Syria
(an oasis of Christian-Muslim tolerance in the Middle East) has been
repeatedly suggested in the Anglo-American media (together with increasingly
democratic Iran) as the next US target.

Cuba is but one of these US- targeted countries and has one of the best
(i.e. lowest) under-5 mortality rates in Latin America. Indeed the ABSENCE
of Cuban-style high literacy and excellent primary health care in
US-dominated, "free" Latin America can be calculated to have robbed 36
MILLION under-5 years old Latin American children of the RIGHT TO LIFE since
1950. US invasion of Cuba (with the horrendous mass mortality that US
invasion typically entails for civilian populations) would be an act of pure
evil.

What can decent people do in the face of such evil? Unremitting exposure by
Alternative Media and boycotts, sanctions and bans applied to Coalition
countries may constrain the ongoing massacre of the innocents. Most
importantly, everyone must realize that it is not only Anglo-American
Whiteness (intrinsic superiority belief culture) and democratic imperialism
(democratic Nazism) that kill -  silence also kills.
