The role of the corporate media in the U.S. and U.K. as mouthpieces of
the Bush and Blair war machines has become more blatant since the
start of the invasion of Iraq. Protests received scant coverage as
many corporate news websites and newspapers shifted their focus to
coverage of the invasion itself, which coverage the military restricts
or manipulates. Independent media activists provided extensive
coverage of anti-war protests which continued to rage across the
globe.
