The book highlights the role of fish and aquatic foods in sustainably feeding and nourishing Nigeria’s rapidly growing population. During the webinar, WorldFish’s Project Lead for Sustainable Aquaculture based in Nigeria, Rohana Subasinghe, will give an overview of the book, building on the current understanding of Nigeria’s emerging aquaculture sector and highlighting recommendations to enhance the nation’s food production systems through capacity building and aquaculture innovations. Following that will be a panel discussion with key partners of the research publication, including USAID, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) and Nigeria Government's Department of Fisheries (DoF). Together, they will explore the challenges and opportunities of making nutritious fish and aquatic foods more accessible and affordable to the rural poor and future investment plans to facilitate the inclusive growth of the aquaculture sector in Nigeria. *Opening Remarks* *Mohammad Mahmood Abubakar*, Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Federal Republic of Nigeria Abubakar is a certified expert in microbiology and natural resource management, specifically in land, soil, forest, river basin and watershed. As minister, he leads the design and implementation of agricultural and rural development programs in Nigeria. *Introducing the 'Nigeria Fish Futures'* *Rohana Subasinghe*, Project Lead, Sustainable Aquaculture (Nigeria), WorldFish Subasinghe is a specialist in aquaculture development and aquatic animal health management. He has more than 20 years educating and implementing programs in sustainable and inclusive growth of aquaculture at national, regional, and international levels. *Remarks* *Baba Yusuf Abubakar*, Board Chair of Trustees, WorldFish Abubakar previously served internationally as a member of the CGIAR council representing Sub-Saharan Africa. Throughout his career, he has made invaluable contributions to the agricultural research and development agenda in West & Central Africa. *Audu Grema*, Senior Manager, Agriculture, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Grema leads the agricultural and food production developments at the Foundation. In his capacity, he works to build and strengthen partnerships and collaboration between research institutes and the food industry to achieve food and nutrition security in Nigeria. *Shivaun Leonard*, Senior Aquaculture and Fisheries Advisor, United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Leonard oversees USAID’s investment in aquaculture and fisheries under the Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Fish (FIL). Her career centers on creating innovations to improve nutrition, livelihoods, food security and income generation of vulnerable groups. *Samba Kawa*, Agriculture Development Officer, United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Nigeria Kawa has over 7 years of experience in seed multiplication, farmer training and agricultural extension and research. Additionally, he is an expert in agroforestry and in institutional intervention targeted at increasing the resilience of smallholder supply chains. *Ime S. Umoh*, Director, Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Nigeria Umoh leads the Federal Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture in Nigeria. He is responsible for developing policies, programs and projects in aquatic food production systems for poverty reduction, hunger, malnutrition, and income generation for Nigerian people. *Closing Remarks* *Colin Shelley*, Project Leader, WorldFish Shelley has been engaged in aquaculture, fisheries and marine sciences as a consultant, research program leader and business owner for over 35 years. He is passionate in new technologies to improve productivity, profitability, and market quality of aquatic foods. *Moderator* *Etienne Hinrichsen*, Leader, European Union-financed East African Community (True-Fish) & Aquaculture Africa Magazine (AAM) Hinrichsen works at the intersection of environmental management and aquaculture. He has 25 years of experience developing aquaculture policy, strategy, projects, feasibilities and best practices and currently leads the business component of the True-Fish project.
