The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) accepts applications for the WFP Innovation Challenge. WFP seeks low- and high-tech solutions, including digital tools addressing the global food crisis. Projects will be considered for a six-month acceleration program with access of up to US$100 thousand in equity-free funding. Eligibility extends to start-ups (profit or not-for-profit) and WFP employees who are collaborating with NGOs, government or private sectors. Applications can be submitted until 03 November 2022.

FARA, CGIAR, AfDB, AMCOW, AUC & The Government of Liberia will jointly launch the African Climate Smart Agriculture Framework (ACSAF 2030): Science-based response to the Africa Climate Change and Resilient Development Strategy and Action Plan (2022-2032) at the Food and Agriculture Pavilion at 16:00 – 17:50 Hours on November 15. The pavilion is sponsored by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), CGIAR, and the Rockefeller Foundation.

The Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) is the apex continental organisation responsible for facilitating and coordinating the advancement of agricultural research and innovation on the continent. It is also the technical arm of the African Union Commission (AUC) and the African Union Development Agency (AUDA)-NEPAD on the mobilization of science, technology, and innovation (STI) for the development of the continent’s agriculture and food system. FARA is headquartered in Accra, Ghana, and has been in existence for 25 years. FARA’s unique role is to enhance the connection of science, technology, and innovation through the AASW event and the agribusiness platform.
