Dear colleagues and PhD students,

I would like to invite you to attend our Undergraduate Dissertation Work in Progress Symposium, which will take place on Thursday 26 February from 2:00–4:00pm in Cottrell 2A13. Please feel free to attend as much or as little as your schedule allows.

This is an important milestone for our undergraduate dissertation students. At this stage, they will have developed their research questions and should be beginning to generate early empirical results. The symposium provides them with a valuable opportunity to present their work and receive feedback from across the Economics community.

Your perspective and feedback at this stage can make a meaningful difference to the direction and quality of their final dissertations. Exposure to different viewpoints—methodological, theoretical, and applied—is particularly valuable as students refine their arguments and interpretation.

I would therefore strongly encourage as many staff and PhD students as possible to attend, even if only for part of the session. Your engagement plays an important role in supporting our students’ development as researchers and contributes to the intellectual life of the division.

Many thanks in advance for your support, and I hope to see many of you there.

Best wishes,

Hector
