Apropos the call for conferences yesterday I go this today.
I attended the workshop online the last three years. It's full of behavioural papers that might be of interest to some. I strongly encourage anyone with relevant work to apply.
Best,
Hector

Dear colleagues,
Apologies in advance for cross-posting!
The School of Economics and the Centre for Behavioural and Experimental Social Science at the University of East Anglia are organising our 3rd Discrimination and Diversity Workshop on 21 and 22 June 2023, which will be held virtually to allow for greater inclusivity. Our previous two iterations of the workshop were incredibly successful, attracting exceptionally high-quality presenters and submissions. More information about the workshop series can be found here<https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fsites.goo…>.
For the 2023 iteration of the workshop, we are pleased to have the following special speakers confirmed:
* J. Aislinn Bohren (University of Pennsylvania)
* Patricia Cortés (Boston University)
It is also our pleasure to welcome invited speakers to chair and lead discussions in paper sessions dedicated to these five topics:
* Gender in Education and the Workplace (by Anne Boring, Erasmus University Rotterdam)
* LGBTQ+ Individuals (by Michael E. Martell, Bard College)
* Leadership and Role Models (by Danila Serra, Texas A&M University)
* Violence against Women and Minorities (by Zahra Siddique, University of Bristol)
* Race and Ethnicity (by Bryan Stuart, Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia)
Given the virtual format of the workshop, we will have sessions that cater to different time zones as much as possible. We especially encourage submissions from early-career researchers and doctoral students, and from all geographic areas.
This year, the School of Economics and the Centre for Behavioural and Experimental Social Science at UEA will once again be funding two Outstanding Paper Awards worth £500 each, specifically targeted at recognizing and promoting the excellent work by junior researchers.
To submit your paper to the workshop, please complete the online form here<https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fforms.off…>. An extended abstract (4,000 characters, or about 500 words) will be required. We especially encourage submission of full papers if available.
*** KEY DATES ***
Workshop: 21 and 22 June 2023
Submission Deadline: Sunday, 26 March 2023
Notification of acceptance: May 2023
Please contact us at eco.dnd(a)uea.ac.uk<mailto:eco.dnd@uea.ac.uk> if you have any questions.
We look forward to your submissions!
Best regards,
The organizing committee (Oana Borcan, Laura Harvey, and Boon Han Koh)

Hi everyone,
As you know the RES and SES conference are jointly held at Glasgow this year a part of the Tercentenary celebrations of Adam Smith's Birth. Please see below for the call for committee members for the Junior Researcher Symposium.
As part of the RES roadshow there is always a junior scholar conference organised by PhD students local to the host insitution. Glasgow this year have expressed a desire to get PhD students from SGPE affiliated institutions to help the committee organise the conference. This needless to say is a unique experience. I have friends who organised the junior symposia in 2017 and 2018 when Sussex hosted RES. Though challenging it was a very rewarding experience. Needless to say this stuff is like gold dust for CVs for those PhDs looking to stay in Academia, as it represents a commitment to scientific endeavours.
I urge interested people to get in touch.
Kind regards,
Hector

Dear Heads of Economics and SGPE directors
It was great to meet with many of you at Crieff Hydro last week and thanks for the opportunity for me to introduce the forthcoming Royal Economic Society (RES) PhD Symposium on the 9th June 2023 in Glasgow.
This one-day conference is supposed to be organized by PhD students and for PhD students. Its objectives are to bring together students to foster discussion and dissemination of research in all areas of economics. In the past, the scale is about 70-120 students from all UK Universities.
In terms of the organization, we have appointed two student leads from Glasgow, but would like to call for interests from your departments if there are any 3rd or 4th year PhD students who would like to join the committee to help with paper selection and other aspects of the conference. We hope that this will be a rewarding experience for these students and strengthen their CV for their job market competition.
To complement the expertise of existing committee members, we particularly welcome applicants in the fields of finance and econometrics (either applied or theory), as well as Applied Micro and Macro.
Can you please kindly forward this information to the relevant students and for anyone who is interested in, please fill in this form (https://forms.office.com/e/bgr45v2G2K<https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fforms.off…>) and send a copy of most recent CV to the academic lead Dr Anthoulla Phella (anthoulla.phella(a)glasgow.ac.uk<mailto:anthoulla.phella@glasgow.ac.uk>) and use ‘RES Junior Symposium-SGEP’ as the email subject by 27 Jan?
I will forward the call for papers link in the beginning of February and please encourage your PhD students to join this exciting event and present their work at the Symposium.
Many thanks.
Best wishes.
