Hi Guys,
If you need access to Stata during our exile from the university, could you please get in touch with @Donna McKendrick<mailto:donna.mckendrick@stir.ac.uk>? She's in touch with IT, there is now an official solution.
Equally, if there are any concerns from a PhD programme standpoint, or you're facing any challenges, can you please reach out and let me know?
Best of luck everyone, stay indoors and wash those hands!

Hi All,
Further to my email last month here is the full details (below) about Charles Manski's programme of lectures he will be giving in Glasgow next week. I strongly urge anyone interested in decision making under uncertainty to attend. I would also like to encourage PhD students in particular to attend.
Best,
Hector

Subject: Prof. Manski's lectures and talk at the University of Glasgow
Dear all,
First, my apologies for cross-posting. I am writing to let you know that Professor Charles Manski (Northwestern University) is going to give three lectures on Monday March 9, Thursday March 12 and Friday March 13 at the University of Glasgow on the topic of patient care under uncertainty, based on his recent book under the same name (https://press.princeton.edu/books/hardcover/9780691194738/patient-care-unde…). While he will lecture on optimal decision-making in the context of medical treatment choice under uncertainty, the methodological issues he will discuss are also relevant for decision-making under uncertainty in disciplines as diverse as economics, finance, management, law, education, and political science.
More information on the lectures, including the lecture slides, suggested readings and on how to register for free can be found at the link https://www.gla.ac.uk/schools/business/events/headline_712187_en.html .
Prof. Manski will also give at the University of Glasgow the Adam Smith Distinguished Speaker Series talk on Tuesday, March 10 at 18.30. The talk will be entitled "Communicating uncertainty in policy analysis"; more information can be found at the link https://www.gla.ac.uk/schools/business/events/distinguishedspeaker/headline… .
All are welcome to attend both the lectures and the talk. Moreover, please feel free to forward the associated information to any colleagues and students you think might be interested.
If you have any questions on the above, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Kind regards,
Dimitris Christelis
