Dear PhD Lab,

As I am wading through the (momentarily very deep) depths of my e-mail inbox, I came across the below e-mail, which was circulated early November via IAS. I hope you received this, too?

This SGSSS Mentoring Programme may be of interest to some of you (2nd/3rd year students). Application deadline is next Monday. If you are interested in applying please get in touch with me.

Best,
Till

SGSSS is proud to once again partner with the Royal Society of Edinburgh (RSE) on our successful mentoring programme.

The Mentoring Programme aims to connect PhD researchers to RSE Fellows or SGSSS PhD Alumni with a variety of professional experience in academia, the public, private, or non-profit sector. Mentees set relevant objectives to explore the skills, knowledge, and experience that will support their future post PhD career choices, develop their awareness of the transferability of research skills and the potential for research impact.

All Social Science PhD students in their 2nd or 3rd year of study (or part time equivalent) regardless of funding status are welcome to apply as mentees.

We are seeking PhD alumni from all post PhD career paths to apply to become mentors. Benefits for mentors include an opportunity to develop leadership, active listening, and coaching skills and their professional networks.

Application deadline Monday 18 November, 5pm.
