RESEARCH ASSISTANT POST

Applications are invited for the post of Research Assistant in the Department of Psychology (part time 2 days per week, temporary 12 month contract) to work on a project using eye tracking to explore visual distraction and learning in pupils functioning on the Autism Spectrum. The project will provide a detailed understanding of how pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorders cope with learning in typical classroom environments. Therefore the Research Assistant will work closely with schools to conduct research using eye tracking methods. The successful applicant should therefore have excellent research skills as well as good organisational and interpersonal skills for working with both the research team and liaising with schools.

The project is funded by the British Academy and the successful applicant will work under the supervision of Dr Mary Hanley and Dr Debbie Riby, Department of Psychology, Durham University. Informal enquiries should be made to Dr Debbie Riby, deborah.riby@durham.ac.uk.
