The ‘recognition and categorization group’ in the department of ‘Human Perception, Cognition and Action’ of the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics in Tübingen, Germany invites applications for a Postdoc (2 years) or a PhD
position (3 years) in the field of human face recognition. We are looking for suitable candidates with interest and knowledge in psychophysical methods, so as in fMRI, EEG, eye tracking or computational modeling. Good programming skills (Matlab) are of advantage. Applicants
for these positions should have ideally a background in psychology, cognitive sciences or a related field. Payment is according to the guidelines of the Max Planck Society.
Our institute is located in the Max Planck campus in Tübingen and provides an excellent multidisciplinary, interactive and collaborative research environment combining expertise in neurophysiology (Prof. Nikos Logothetis), psychophysics, virtual reality and
robotics (Prof. Heinrich Bülthoff), and MRI methodology (Prof. Klaus Scheffler).
The position
can be filled immediately or later
and is funded for a period of 3 years for PhD students according to German Public service regulations, and 2 years for postdoc. The Max Planck Society is committed to Equal Opportunities.
