the open cv toolbox (written in C++, has a matlab API) has the viola-jones face detector as one of the many tools. g. What should practitioners know about face matching research?

FAO: Experts in face identification / unfamiliar face matching Dear face researchers, I am compiling a list of ''Results that practitioners should know about human face matching performance'", for an article to appear in a Passport Industry magazine (ICAO MRTD report). By 'practitioners' I mean policy makers who design processes for verifying the identity of both passport applicants (e.g. passport issuance), and passport holders (e.g. border control). This process requires people to make 'face matching' decisions, i.e. 'are these images of the same person or of two different people?' I'd like to give the industry some good advice from experts in the field, so that they might develop methods to improve ID verification procedures. Therefore, I am conducting a brief survey: If you have a few minutes to spare, I wonder if you might be able to help me compile this list - by giving thought to 5 'kernels of knowledge' that you would choose to implant in the practitioners' head. Once you have a list (needn't be 5, could be any number), I would be much obliged if you could forward to me, and include any references that you would like to point towards.
