BERG/SHAIR meeting tomorrow Wednesday 14th May
Dear everyone, Apologies for the late reminder this week. In the next BERG/SHAIR meeting (tomorrow 4pm). Dr. Sandro Sehner will present "Getting Along to get Ahead. Social tolerance and Problem-Solving in Primate Groups" Dr. Sandro Sehner is a postdoctoral researcher at the German Primate Center in Göttingen and the Centre de Primatologie in Strasbourg. Abstract: In my talk, I will explore how social tolerance shapes both social learning and innovation—two key building blocks of cultural evolution. Drawing on research with lemurs, capuchin monkeys, and common marmosets, I examine how variation in group-level tolerance affects primates’ ability to acquire and solve novel tasks together. Sandro will join us online at 4pm. We will gather in the Psychology Common Room as usual. link to attend online: https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/ap/t-59584e83/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fteams.microsoft.com%2Fl%2Fmeetup-join%2F19%253ameeting_NTliODBlNDQtMzM1MC00OTczLWE2MTMtMmE2NmMzNmY2OGM5%2540thread.v2%2F0%3Fcontext%3D%257b%2522Tid%2522%253a%25224e8d09f7-cc79-4ccb-9149-a4238dd17422%2522%252c%2522Oid%2522%253a%2522ef6e3d43-6071-4600-ac5e-cac083c36eff%2522%257d&data=05%7C02%7Calejandro.sanchezamaro%40stir.ac.uk%7Cdf0866416acc4c6fa5f808dd862a8efb%7C4e8d09f7cc794ccb9149a4238dd17422%7C0%7C0%7C638814239556651039%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=nGc%2FIzMZ%2BSorPWWzzTZHyRMeGGdD9b4YMRnJSEe14us%3D&reserved=0<https://teams.microsoft.com/l/meetup-join/19%3ameeting_NTliODBlNDQtMzM1MC00OTczLWE2MTMtMmE2NmMzNmY2OGM5%40thread.v2/0?context=%7b%22Tid%22%3a%224e8d09f7-cc79-4ccb-9149-a4238dd17422%22%2c%22Oid%22%3a%22ef6e3d43-6071-4600-ac5e-cac083c36eff%22%7d> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dr. Alejandro Sanchez-Amaro Lecturer in Psychology Cottrell Building Room 3B144c, Department of Psychology, Faculty of Natural Sciences University of Stirling @ Colleagues and Students: Please let me know of any EDI (Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) -related issues that you would like me to bring to the attention of our Division's EDI Committee. ________________________________ Scotland’s University for Sporting Excellence The University of Stirling is a charity registered in Scotland, number SC 011159
