Dear friends of the rainforests,

It’s a shocking example of the impact that media fear-mongering can have on innocent creatures: the Netflix series “72 Dangerous Animals: Latin America” is proving deadly for endangered howler monkeys.

The show claims that howler monkeys transmit yellow fever to humans – a myth that was debunked long ago. Yet in a recent outbreak in Brazil, people went on a rampage, killing howler monkeys out of fear of contracting the disease.

A single Netflix “documentary” thus has the power to undermine a massive yellow-fever awareness and vaccination campaign and throw back years of conservation progress.

Please sign our petition and tell Netflix to stop streaming this tragically flawed program and prevent the needless, wholesale slaughter of howler monkeys.

Thanks for being involved,
