Title: On how captive socio-ecology influences captive chimpanzees’ competitiveness and
other curiosities
Abstract: In this talk, I would like to present ongoing work on the effect of
socio-ecological variables such as rank and bonding on captive chimpanzees'
predispositions to compete with other in-group members. This study stems from the
EVApeCognition initiative, a collaborative effort to publish over 240 datasets from work
conducted with great apes in the Leipzig Zoo over the last 20 years.
