Dr Betsy Herrelko (National Zoo, Washington DC) will give a short LIVE presentation on Animal Perspectives on Wednesday 20th at 17.30 BST, followed by discussion
Animal perspectives affect everything we do in zoos. Our success as animal care specialists
heavily relies on identifying those perspectives and understanding how to best work with each individual’s needs. When we take into consideration behavioral responses to their social environment and added activities, our understanding of the complexity of
their world becomes richer. In this BERG, we will talk about a few of the ways in which perception is studied (largely focused on my own work) and how it can impact applied practices.
