Hello,
I’m reaching out on behalf of The British Carnivore Project at the University of Hull to share a free, illustrated booklet we’ve created, entitled Urban Tails, to encourage young people (ages 9–14) to engage more with local nature.
As towns and cities expand, many young people are losing interest in nature, affecting their well-being. Urban Tails aims to help inspire curiosity and care for the natural world, starting with one of the UK’s most familiar and beloved urban animals: the red fox.
The booklet features:
*
Six short stories about our two main characters, Alice and Jack, as they explore their city’s hidden wildlife
*
Interactive activities, games, and discussion questions
*
A glossary and overview of important conservation messages based on scientific research
*
Ready-to-use resources for educators, youth workers, and nature clubs
You can download a free PDF of Urban Tails here: https://www.blakemorton.co.uk/download/1293/?tmstv=1751992612
If you or your organisation is interested in using the booklet for any activities, please let us know as we’d be very happy to support you. Just get in touch at b.morton(a)hull.ac.uk<mailto:b.morton@hull.ac.uk>
We’d also be very grateful if you could please help us circulate the booklet by forwarding this email or posting the link to Urban Tails in any newsletters or social media platforms, if that is possible.
We hope you enjoy Urban Tails as much as we enjoyed creating it!
Kind regards,
Blake
