The proceedings of the 2003 Lucius W. Nieman Symposium, "Lessons from
Iraq: The News Media and the Next War," have been published in book form
by Marquette University.  Among the participants were Deputy Assistant
Secretary of Defense Bryan Whitman, journalists who covered the war,
news executives, and academics.  Washington Post ombudsman Michael
Getler delivered the keynote speech.  Copies of the proceedings are
