New from COLDTYPE.NET
Our focus this issue is on Truth, Lies and Propaganda in the War with Iraq,
featuring two extracts from a new book from Pluto Press, and an essay that
exposes the way the British and US military plan to gain absolute control
over media during future wars. Orwell, it seems, may have been right but
the title of his book was out by 20 years. Editor

1. THE LYING GAME
A 24-page excerpt from an outstanding new book, consisting of the
introduction by David miller and a chapter by mark Curtis from the new
book, TELL ME LIES, Propaganda and Media Distortion in the War on Iraq

2. INFORMATION DOMINANCE
In this new 16-page essay, David Miller discusses the US and Britain's plans
for total propaganda control in the event of war. ³It is evident," he says,
" that the US and its UK ally are intent on ruling the world and that
information control has become central to that effort. The key to
understanding information dominance is to be clear that it is not dissent in
itself that the US planners object to. Rather it is dissent that hampers
their ability to do whatever they want that matters."
