NEW AT COLDTYPE.NET
MYTH OR REALITY 1 There's a perception, in North America certainly, that
the most balanced TV coverage of the war on Iraq came from Britain's BBC
network. Not so, says John Pilger, who points out that research in Germany
and Wales suggests precisely the opposite. The BBC's coverage was not an
aberration, says Pilger, a look at the history of the channel's coverage of
Iraq over the years shows less than impartial coverage.
In addition, we've also got a new interview with Pilger by Anthony Arnove
for Britain's Socialist Worker newspaper, in which he discusses the making
of his latest documentary Breaking the Silence and the extraordinary
evidence he unearthed that illuminates the lies of senior US officials

MYTH OR REALITY 2 Imagine a world where nothing you ever said ever was
really said where you could go back in time and unsay anything stupid,
offensive or just plain untrue, says Michael I. Niman. Imagine a world where
you would never in the future have to bear responsibility for anything you
say or do today a world without consequences. In this world there is no
history life begins anew each morning, the insane are sane, and serial
liars are the world¹s leaders. For a rational mind, this is a fictive
reality. For George W. Bush and Donald Rumsfeld, it¹s life as usual or so
they¹d like to believe.
