Before the outbreak of the war the name 'Hans Blix'was on everyone's lips. I
think it is fair to say that most people have heard of him and associate him
with Iraq and weapons of mass destruction as a figure of some standing and
weight. Given that Mr. Blix has made some strong statements this week about
the war, it is only right and fair that you give these comments some
mainstream news coverage.

I refer to the interview published this week in the Spanish daily El Pais.
In this interview, Mr. Blix said "there is evidence that this war was
planned well in advance. Sometimes this raises doubts about their attitude
to the (weapons) inspections." He went on to say that the war was "a very
high price to pay in terms of human lives and the destruction of a country"
when the threat of weapons proliferation could have been contained by UN
inspections.

give it the attention it deserves on the mainsteam news, where it will
receive a wider audience.
