<P><SPAN LANG="en-gb"><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">This session examines the techniques and pathways by which graduate students may achieve publication of their research output. The session will cover each stage of the process, including the identification and targeting of potential publishers, the writing and presentation of proposals in an increasingly competitive academic marketplace, and the conversion of thesis materials into publishable texts.<BR>

Three categories of academic publishing will be considered: books, journal articles, and essays for edited volumes. John Field has published many examples of each, and regularly reviews book and article proposals for major academic publishers in the UK. </FONT></SPAN></P>
