will introduce students to the business of acquiring external funding to support
research activity. Guidance will be provided on identifying appropriate sources
of funding; tips on drafting proposals and submitting applications; and
discussion of associated issues such as costing and pricing, intellectual
property and the relationship between funding body and researcher. A case study
will be included.</SPAN></P>
