<div>Psychology is seeking to appoint a Research Assistant to work on an ESRC-funded project, under the direction of Dr Stephen Langton (Principal Investigator), exploring how visual attention is influenced when observers view natural, dynamic shifts of another
person’s eye-gaze. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the project. They will be expected to prepare experimental materials, implement the planned experiments, recruit participants for the research and conduct preliminary
analysis of the data. </div>

<div>Applicants should have an Honours Degree in Psychology, or a related discipline, and an interest in face/gaze processing. They should have excellent communication skills, experience in conducting quantitative research, and competence in statistical analysis
techniques. Some experience with eye-tracking techniques, video-editing, image processing (e.g., Adobe Photoshop) and experiment-management software (e.g., EPrime) would be desirable, as would experience in managing a large-scale research project. </div>

<div>The position is full-time, fixed-term for 36 months with a proposed start date 1st November 2011. The maximum starting salary will be £23,660p.a., (Grade 6, Spine Point 22).</div>
