<p style="margin: 12px 0 0 0">Dear friends of the rainforests,</p>
<p style="margin: 12px 0 0 0">It’s a shocking example of the impact that media fear-mongering can have on innocent creatures: the Netflix series “72 Dangerous Animals: Latin America” is proving deadly for endangered howler monkeys.</p>
<p style="margin: 12px 0 0 0">The show claims that howler monkeys transmit yellow fever to humans – a myth that was debunked long ago. Yet in a recent outbreak in Brazil, people went on a rampage, killing howler monkeys out of fear of contracting the disease. </p>
<p style="margin: 12px 0 0 0">A single Netflix “documentary” thus has the power to undermine a massive yellow-fever awareness and vaccination campaign and throw back years of conservation progress. </p>
<p style="margin: 12px 0 0 0">Please sign our petition and tell Netflix to stop streaming this tragically flawed program and prevent the needless, wholesale slaughter of howler monkeys. </p>
